Example of a successful ‘Parody Site’

Parody site are actually a site that is built to copy the look and feel of a famous site. The best example is JohnCow.com which is a parody of JohnChow.com. It is also a make money online blog with endless similarity with the original ‘evil’ website. After JohnChow change to a new theme recently, the look of the site is no more similar but I am not betting against the Cow popping up with the same theme design in the next few days or week. It makes me thinking whether the Cow is actually a Chow in disguise.

john cow

I find it funny reading JohnCow because of the words used such as milk, mooney, pasteur, even the buy me a beer is changed to buy us some milk. You can read about the Cow’s August earnings here. Not bad at all! But before you go and make a probloggers.net or sabahans.com, just be careful in creating a parody site because of the legal and copyright infringement issues.

So good luck in making more moooney. :)

Cheers.

@CSimon-you are right! Cow don’t drink their own milk..

yes, i agree with dott-com! Sometimes I like reading the cow more than Chow nowadays because of the useful information, btw Chow is writing about his personal life too much lately and only write for paid reviews.

    just my 2 cents. :)

I feel bad for JohnCow because it has so much potential unless John Chow owns it. John Chow might not be taking actions right now for the parody site but if he changes his mind it is all over for them. Johncow will always live with the fear of one day shutting down their sites if JC takes legal actions.

I don’t think John Chow own johncow.com. The way of writing is very different in this blog. Although, its ‘ post topic is in the same area.
