Linkbait is the bomb this season.
A linkbait is something that a site uses to catch users attention and generate better traffics. Better traffic means improving your blogs readership and potential more RSS subscriber. An example of a good linkbait is what 45n5.com did recently by compiling the top 100 Make Money Online blog(Rajawang did not make it in the top 100, comes up in rank no 149 
). The chart below clearly shows the spike in traffic due to the successful linkbait.
The chart below clearly shows the spike in traffic generated by the entire buzz. I waited until the chart starts to drop in order to see how high it goes, and guess what? Almost 4 times the normal traffic!
You can also make a linkbait of your own:
- Write something ‘controversial’ in your niche.
- Invite an expert to be a guest writer.
- Make a top list that is unique and never been done before.
- Start a contest that offer great prizes, and I really mean great prizes!
- Be creative! Just think anything that you feel can make readers flock to your blog in a hurry.
Other example that I remembered are: John Cow using linkbait by being a parody site of Chow, Gobala with his firesale and sendusto.us thing, Sabahan.com with the $400 reviewme by Chow, setting up of a brand new (expensive) theme, Blogearners.com with the Top List of blog earners.and many more.
But one thing to remember is to make sure that your reader will come back to your site after the linkbait is over. How do you do that? Nothing beats good content quality and a good impression that your reader gets in the first place.

Linkbait is necessary in todays business. I haven’t quite mastered the skill of writing a good linkbait post but hopefully soon. Thanks for the great post!

linkbait is very important and it’s a skill to learn. You can learn by examining other linkbaits and see what worked and what didn’t.. (hmm this could be a linkbait article by itself
