It’s Official! The Top-3 make money blog ditch adsense ads. Why?

Problogger did explain it in a video. John Chow let us all know his reason in his September Earnings post. Rajawang didn’t tell us why yet. But all of the top 3 make money online blog don’t use adsense ads anymore in their ‘make money online’ blogs. Why? Surely with thousands and thousands of visitors everyday, they can easily make a fortune using adsense? Right? Wrong!

top three make money

Haha, of course the image above is fake! Rajawang is not even near the top 100 of the make money blog list by 45n5. But I do wish that it is true. The correct rank is Problogger, Shoemoney and Chow. Rajawang is way down the list because of the PR n/a (yesterday it was PR0, now it is N/A). Btw, this post is to about the reasons why they don’t put any adsense on their blog not about Rajawang making it in the top 3 list. :)

As you already know, make money online blogs are mostly read by someone who want to learn to make money online or are already in this business of making money from the internet and the chances that they knew about adsense is high. In that case, for them clicking any adsense ads will take something special; either the ads are very interesting, they accidentally click it on purpose or as wayne liew said in this blog; he occasionally give ‘click love’ to blog he read. :)

In the case of the top three blog mentioned above, the remove adsense completely and replace them with selling ad spot on their blog. In this way, the will be getting a stable income from advertisers and sponsors monthly without worrying about clickthrough or page impression.

But of course this is only possible if your blog is very famous, because no advertiser will want to buy a $250 ad spot if your blog is receiving a few visitors a day. So, blog traffic is the key again. Traffic oh traffic.

I am not saying adsense is not good for monetising your blog, but it depends on what niche are you in. If let say your blog is in the travel or shopping category, maybe you will be getting very well with adsense on your blog because of the type of readers you are having.

For me, I have tried bidvertiser for two weeks but the result was disappointing to say at very least. Now, I am giving advertlets a chance and I have to say that it is going quite well because I am earning around RM1.50 ($0.50) from it daily which is good. One of the tips that I want give is to keep on trying other monetising program for your blog to find which one is the best because you will never know if you didn’t give it a try.

Hope this post will help other make money online blog to generate more income.

Cheers.

experimenting is key; find out what works best. That all depends on the purpose of your blog/site

I have sites on which adsense is doing quite well, but also sites/blogs on which adsense doesn’t work at all…

    test test test :)

seems like the strategy used by most blog earners is to start off with google adsense then as your site builds visitors and a reputation you can swap out google adsense for actual sponsors (some of whom will refuse to advertise on a blog with google adsense) so you are almost cutting out the middle man (google) and going right to the source.

@Chris - you are spot on! It depends on what type of site that you are having.

@Will - I hope my blog will grow and be able to sell independent ads directly to advertisers.

Wait, i know i have also post about this at my blog(i am sure you read it if you ever come to my blog before) but now i suddenly have this thinking about the top 3 blog earners(namely problogger, johnchow and shoemoney). I think maybe, only maybe that they think this is the right time to get out of google’s shadow. I mean they feel that their blog traffic is big enough that they don’t need google adsense to make a living anymore. Instead, they sell one sum adspace to make money as quick and as much as they can(way faster and better, and easily manipulated than google adsense)

The question to you, Mr Rajawang, and other commenters in this blog, is that if you have such a big traffic as the top 3 blog earners do, will you NOT selling your own adspace and have a SURE WIN instead of selling other people’s adwords ads for small money which attached with not very sure win (if people click, you get money, if not, you not) situation?
