So you have decided to join the blog bandwagon. But what kind of blog are you going to start? A personal blog? A sports blog or maybe a technology blog? That is the question.
Most of my friends decided to make a personal blog just to follow others, in order to join the ‘conversation’ when your friends are talking about how’s blog are hot and so on. In this very modern environment, having a blog is like a must- just like owning a car. Maybe?! One of my friend started a maps online blog, another start a personal blog, a shoe blog, a make money blog, and many more. I am not sure how much they earn from those blogs but I know they are giving it a try.
But if you are planning to earn money online through a personal blog, I can tell you that it is hard to make any real money from a personal blog. Unless you are a famous person e.g artist, politician or you are doing job which is very interesting like graphic design, multimedia or traveling the world.

If you can make your personal blog very interesting and unique; example stickgal, then your reader will grow and you can probably make some money from it (just look at the amount of comments it received for each post). Very weird but interesting.
Or course there are famous Malaysian bloggers like kennysia.com to think about the way a successful blogger write a post. Lot’s of pictures and interesting personal events. Funny and real.
For tech blog reference, try visiting hongkiat or raymond (23 thousands rss reader!..wooot! 
) to find examples of a famous and very good blogs.
But don’t be a copycat. Try to find your own style of writing. And worse is copying others work and paste it on your blog. A big no - no.
Improving blog’s Traffic
All the examples here are malaysians blog. Just to give beginners some motivation that we all can succeed with the correct approach and attitude. If the content is good, the traffic will increase. Of course there is the small matter of telling others about your blog existence(advertising anyone?) The easy way is by submitting your blog URL to list sites, blog aggregator, forums or just simply exchanging address with your friends or colleagues. Blog posting frequency is also important and don’t forget that content is still king.

Kenny Sia might be fake and obnoxious but he’s getting more than 15K uniques per day. That should be enough for around RM8K per month from adsense alone, right rajawang?

My blog content is mixed…sometimes about my personal life…other times about tech stuff…another about current issue…I wrote according to my convenience…If have the time, I would definitely like to blog about music…even though I’m not a pro-musician but I like music…

Ben: Correct me if i am wrong but kennysia don’t have adsense. But if you are asking me whether 15K uniques visit can generate RM8K a month; I think it is more than that. About Rm10K is reachable.
