For the past 2-3 weeks, I am quite occupied in doing little research of PC hardware and buying components for my brand new PC setup. You need to do some research to find out the best hardware and most importantly the price before going to buy the thing. I like buying the parts and then setting it myself because it is what will give the most satisfaction in term of performance and speed.

The good news is that my PC is finally done.

I am now running dual boot vista with xp because I need to run some programs(ehem and games) in xp that is still unsupported in vista.

The maximum score is 5.9. I think this is fast enough, even faster than Gaman’s brand new XPS.

My PC specs are:

• Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E8400 3.00GHZ
• Gigabyte GA - N650SLI-DS4L Motherboard
• 4GB 800hz OCZ High Performance RAM (Dual Channel Technology)
• NVidia Geforce 8600GT (SLI Enabled
• NVidia Geforce 8600GT (SLI Enabled)
• Gigabyte 550W Pure Power PSU
• Hitachi 250GB SATA Hardisk
• Samsung DVD-RW
• Apacer 5 in card reader + USB front Slot
• Transparent Acrylic Casing
• 2 Zalman Fan for cooling-Side & front

The total cost is estimated at RM3000 since the processor alone cost RM650, The 8600GT graphic card RM310 each, Motherboard RM500, Hardisk RM180, RAM 90 Each x 4 pieces. I am lucky that I managed to go to Lowyat to buy the motherboard and graphic card during my last outstation.

But since I am doing a lot of work using my computer everyday, I think it is worth the investment and I can happily say that the cost is from my online earnings.

Having a fast, stable and reliable pc setup is a must for any ‘Internet Mogul’ wannabe. Haha.
