Life just got harder. So, Let’s roll.
Friday, June 6th, 2008Maybe some of you have read the term “let’s roll” at the end of my postings before. It is actually a battle cry used after the 9/11 tragedy.
I quote from wikipedia:
Todd Beamer, a passenger on the hijacked United Airlines Flight 93, tried to place a credit card call through a phone located on the back of a plane seat but was routed to a customer-service representative instead, who passed him on to supervisor Lisa Jefferson. Beamer reported that one passenger was killed and, later, that a flight attendant had told him the pilot and co-pilot had been forced from the cockpit and may have been wounded. He was also on the phone when the plane made its turn in a southeasterly direction, a move that had him briefly panicking. Later, he told the operator that some of the plane’s passengers were planning to “jump on” the hijackers. According to Jefferson, Beamer’s last audible words were “Are you guys ready? Let’s roll.”
I live in Malaysia. And most of my readers are from the same country. The recent fuel hike(now RM2.70 for a liter) will hit us hard. The rich people will not be that affected since they afford to live the life of the wealthy people. But since my salary is only enough for the 3 of us, this increase in the fuel hike will be hard to take. If not for my internet business I think we will not survive this times.
All rational mind person can realized that:
Fuel Hike = Good price + fares going UP
No matter what you say about price control or rebates, global oil prices skyrocketing or our oil price still much cheaper than neighboring country(ugh I hate that one).
Neighboring country? Phillipines, Singapore, Thailand is not an oil producing country.
“You cannot compare the price of a durian in Malaysia with the price of durian in Japan.”
I live in Sabah, Malaysia. Our nearest neighboring country is Brunei and the Sultan there gave FREE cooking gas to all the citizens. That’s what you call a caring government.
Malaysia is an oil producing country. It is just the Goverment(Petronas) sell it because of the higher quality and then buy lower grade oil for domestic use. But, Look at other oil producing country:
You got the idea?
I have read that someone even said that if the other country sells cheaper fuel then you better migrate to that country! common dude, do you think that is simple? Or maybe you are too rich to care about this?
The bottom line is that in my opinion the government is not doing a good job at handling this issue. Of course the global oil price is going up but you also selling our own oil at a higher price, right? So how come you don’t have the money to continuing the subsidies? I don’t care if it cost 56 billion a year to subsidies but if that is the amount you have to pay to keep the people happy then be it. As if the government will go bankrupt! pfttt.
I and most of us here can for sure afford the fuel hike but not the prices of all other things that will go up with it.
If anyone doesn’t agree with me, I am asking you to learn the meaning of the word inflation before you disagree.
In terms of making money online, this just spurred me a little harder to increase my earnings online. Which is a good thing.
Life here in Malaysia just got harder.
So, Let’s roll. ![]()
